This card, Abyssal Wave, would benefit a control Warlock deck that focuses on board clear and disruption. While it can be effective in clearing the board of enemy minions, the drawback of giving your opponent an Abyssal Curse could be risky, especially against aggressive decks. There are better alternatives like Twisting Nether or Lord Godfrey for board clears without the downside of giving your opponent an advantage, so Abyssal Wave may not see much play in competitive decks unless the meta shifts to favor its unique effect.
