However, there are more efficient cards like Cryptic Command or Mystic Confluence that offer similar effects with added flexibility, making them better choices in most situations. Aether Helix could see play in casual or budget decks, but may not be competitive enough for higher-level play.

You must choose two legal targets in order to cast Aether Helix. If there are either no permanent cards in your graveyard or no permanents on the battlefield, you cannot begin to cast it.
