Bioluminescence would benefit a spell-heavy Shaman deck that relies on dealing damage with spells. While it can be useful to boost spell damage for more impactful spells, there are better cards like Azure Drake or Bloodmage Thalnos that offer additional benefits like card draw or spell damage with a body. Bioluminescence may not see play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other options available.
