While there are other cards that provide similar effects, such as Pawn of Ulamog or Sifter of Skulls, Pitiless Plunderer's ability to generate Treasure tokens can provide additional mana ramp and color fixing, making it a strong inclusion in decks looking to capitalize on sacrificing creatures for benefits. This card should definitely see play in decks that can take advantage of its ability to generate additional resources.
