Scaled Lancer, a 4‑mana 5/5 Dragon that gives all enemy minions Taunt, would only make sense in a very niche combo or control deck that specifically benefits from forcing attacks—such as strategies that punish minions for being damaged, trigger effects when attacking Taunt minions, or manipulate targeting restrictions for combo setups—but in practice this effect is almost always a downside because it protects your opponent’s board and prevents you from going face or making efficient trades. Most decks, especially Midrange, Aggro, or standard Dragon synergies, would prefer strong neutral 4‑drops like Chillwind Yeti (historically for stats), Evasive Feywing (for Dragon synergy and resilience), or utility cards like School Teacher or Blademaster Okani depending on the meta, all of which provide proactive value without helping the opponent. As a result, Scaled Lancer would generally not see competitive play unless a very specific combo existed that turned the “all enemy minions have Taunt”
