Scuzzback Scrounger would fit best in a Rakdos or Jund-style aristocrats deck, -1/-1 counter synergy deck, or any strategy that benefits from sacrificing or repeatedly shrinking creatures (such as ones using undying, persist, modular, or creatures that like having counters placed on them), since it turns expendable bodies into steady Treasure ramp; it could also function in sacrifice-based Goblin shells that don’t mind weakening token creatures. However, compared to strong red Treasure producers like **Professional Face-Breaker**, **Captain Lannery Storm**, **Magda, Brazen Outlaw**, or especially **Dockside Extortionist**, this card is relatively slow and requires a board presence plus a drawback to generate value, making it weaker in competitive environments. It might see play in synergy-driven casual or Commander decks built around -1/-1 counter interactions, but in most optimized decks there are more efficient and less conditional Treasure generators available.
