The Ooze would fit best in a +1/+1 counter–focused deck, especially in Commander, where cards like *Hardened Scales*, *Branching Evolution*, *Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider*, or *Cathars' Crusade* amplify counter production and where creatures frequently die or are sacrificed for value (e.g., with *Viscera Seer* or *Ashnod’s Altar*), turning each counter into future board growth via Mutagen tokens; it also pairs well with persist/undying creatures and modular creatures to repeatedly convert counters into resources, while its graveyard exile ability gives incidental utility against recursion strategies.
