This card, Volcanic Hammer, would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck looking to quickly deal damage to the opponent or to remove small creatures. While it provides a cheap and efficient way to deal 3 damage, there are better options available such as Lightning Bolt, which also deals 3 damage for just R and can target creatures or players. However, Volcanic Hammer could still see play in budget decks or in formats where Lightning Bolt is not legal, providing a solid option for direct damage in red decks.
