A white-blue control deck that focuses on card advantage and evasion would benefit from using Angelic Gift, as it provides both card draw and flying to a creature. However, there are better options like Gryff's Boon or Spectral Flight that provide similar effects more efficiently. Angelic Gift could see play in a budget deck or in a limited environment, but in a competitive setting, it may not be the optimal choice.

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Angelic Gift tries to resolve, it doesn’t resolve. It won’t enter the battlefield, so its enters-the-battlefield ability won’t trigger.
