While the card's effect can be powerful in the right circumstances, there are better options available such as Flametongue Totem, which provides a similar buff effect without the condition of taking damage. However, Blood Guard could still see play in decks looking to capitalize on its unique ability to boost minion attack, especially in situations where it can be protected or trigger multiple times.
