Crystalline Crawler would be beneficial in a multicolor deck that can generate a variety of mana colors, allowing it to enter the battlefield with multiple +1/+1 counters and potentially provide mana fixing. However, there are better cards like Arcbound Ravager or Walking Ballista that offer more immediate impact or flexibility in certain strategies, making Crystalline Crawler a situational inclusion that may not see widespread play in competitive decks.

If there are any alternative or additional costs to cast a spell with a converge ability, the mana spent to pay those costs will count. For example, if an effect makes Crystalline Crawler cost more to cast, you could pay to cast it and have it enter the battlefield with five +1/+1 counters.
