The Destructive Revelry card is best suited for aggressive red and green decks looking to quickly remove problematic artifacts or enchantments while also dealing direct damage to the opponent. While there may be other more efficient cards for artifact/enchantment removal in Magic: The Gathering, such as Naturalize or Shatter, Destructive Revelry's added damage to the opponent makes it a viable option in aggressive decks that benefit from both removal and pressure. This card should definitely see play in decks that can take advantage of its dual-purpose effect.

You must target an artifact or enchantment to cast Destructive Revelry. If that artifact or enchantment is an illegal target when Destructive Revelry tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. No damage will be dealt. However, if Destructive Revelry resolves and the artifact or enchantment isn’t destroyed (perhaps because it has indestructible), damage will be dealt.
