A deck focused on human tribal synergy would benefit from including Hamlet Vanguard, as it can enter the battlefield with a significant power boost if you control other nontoken Humans. While it provides protection with its Ward ability, there may be better options for a similar mana cost in a competitive setting, such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Thalia, Heretic Cathar, which offer disruptive effects that can impact the game more immediately. However, in a casual or themed human tribal deck, Hamlet Vanguard could still see play for its flavorful and synergistic abilities.
