Midnight Clock would be beneficial in control decks that aim to draw into key cards and maintain card advantage. While it provides a consistent source of card draw and can potentially reset your hand and graveyard, there are more efficient options available such as Thirst for Knowledge or Thirst for Meaning which provide immediate card advantage without the need to wait for counters to accumulate. Midnight Clock could see play in slower, more grindy decks that can afford to wait for the payoff, but it may not be the optimal choice in more competitive environments.
