Mystic Misdirection would fit best in a tempo or secret-based Mage deck that aims to stall the board while developing its own threats, since turning an attacking enemy minion into a 1/1 Sheep can completely negate a large threat and swing tempo in your favor; however, at 3 mana it competes with stronger and more reliable Mage secrets like **Explosive Runes** (which often removes or heavily damages a minion while pushing face damage) and **Counterspell** (which can disrupt key turns entirely), and it is generally weaker than hard removal options like **Polymorph**, which guarantees transformation without waiting for an attack. Because it only triggers when the minion attacks and can be played around or triggered by a small minion first, it is somewhat inconsistent, so while it could see niche play in a Secret Mage or tempo list depending on the meta, it would likely not be a staple compared to more impactful Mage secrets and removal tools.
