Tame Pet would fit best in a midrange or value-oriented Hunter deck that already runs Animal Companion and aims to generate sustained board pressure through efficient Beast synergies, since upgrading future Animal Companions into random Beasts that cost (1) more can snowball into stronger midgame threats while the draw offsets the tempo loss; it would be especially appealing in slower Beast Hunter builds that care about board presence rather than pure face damage. However, in most competitive Hunter archetypes, especially aggressive Face Hunter or streamlined midrange lists, consistency and immediate tempo matter more than random value, making reliable power spikes like Wild Spirits, Harpoon Gun (in Beast builds), or simply running stronger standalone Beasts generally better choices.
