Sleet Storm is a cheap Mage spell that would mainly fit into tempo or spell-based Mage decks that want efficient early-game removal and spell synergy, such as Spell Mage or a burn-focused Tempo Mage, since it provides flexible chip damage while potentially triggering spell-related effects (like Spell Damage bonuses or spell-synergy minions). However, because its second damage instance hits a random enemy minion, it’s unreliable compared to more consistent options like Frostbolt (which offers targeted damage and Freeze), Arcane Explosion (for wider AoE), or even First Flame in faster builds, making those generally stronger choices depending on the meta. As a result, Sleet Storm would likely only see play if the format strongly rewards cheap spell triggers or if early token boards are common, but in most competitive settings, there are usually more efficient and consistent Mage removal tools available.
