Watch Over would primarily benefit a slow, defensive C’Thun Shaman deck that can afford to spend six mana generating value rather than developing a minion, especially one built to stabilize through removal, healing, armor, or board-control C’Thun abilities before winning in the late game; it would be useless in aggressive, totem, or tempo Shaman lists because it does not immediately establish a board. However, its narrow C’Thun requirement and high mana cost make it weaker than more reliable options such as C’Thun, the Shattered as a finisher, or efficient Shaman removal and defensive cards that affect the board immediately. Unless the two selected abilities are exceptionally powerful—particularly if they can remove minions and create a strong board or provide major defensive value—Watch Over should not see competitive play, though it could be enjoyable in a casual C’Thun-themed deck.
