About Astral Rain

Astral Rain would mainly benefit a control or spell-heavy Mage deck that needs efficient minion removal, particularly against boards of several small-to-medium minions, since its five random two-damage hits can clear multiple targets or finish a large minion; however, the random distribution can waste damage through overkill and it cannot affect the enemy hero. More reliable options such as `Fire Sale` for broad three-damage AoE, `Blizzard` for damage plus Freeze, or `Flamestrike` for heavier board clearing are generally better when available, while single-target options are preferable against one important threat. Astral Rain is worth considering as a budget or meta-dependent tech card, but unless the format is dominated by vulnerable minion boards, it probably should not see consistent play because dependable AoE is usually more valuable than its potentially high but inconsistent damage output.
