About Tinker
Tinker, Spell, designed by Matt Dixon first released in September 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Tinker would primarily benefit a proactive Mech Hunter or Mech-focused menagerie Hunter, where the assembled Mech immediately advances your board and “Overdrive” provides additional tempo or value; it is much less attractive in spell-heavy, Deathrattle, or control Hunter decks that cannot reliably capitalize on Mechs. Whether it sees play depends heavily on the quality and mana cost of the generated Mech and Overdrive, but at two mana it sounds playable if both effects are reasonably strong, since it offers flexible card advantage without sacrificing too much tempo. However, established options such as `Metal Detector` for early-game development and resource generation, `Tracking` for consistency, or stronger direct Mech-synergy cards will generally be better when your deck needs a specific role rather than random value. Overall, Tinker should be a reasonable inclusion in dedicated Mech Hunter but probably not an automatic staple unless Assemble consistently produces high-impact Mechs
