About Enthralled Shade

Enthralled Shade, Minion - undead, designed by Slawomir Maniak first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Escape from Violet Hold.

Enthralled Shade would fit best in a **Thief Priest / Copy Priest** style deck that focuses on generating and playing cards copied from the opponent through effects like *Identity Theft*, *The Harvester of Envy*, *Madame Lazul*, or similar copy mechanics, since its Deathrattle provides incremental hand-wide cost reduction for those stolen cards, enabling swing turns. However, the effect is somewhat slow and conditional (it requires drawing copied cards and the Deathrattle to trigger), making it weaker than more proactive value engines or direct cost reducers that don’t rely on opponent interaction; in most competitive builds, stronger standalone Priest cards that generate immediate tempo or value would likely be preferred. As a result, Enthralled Shade is a niche synergy piece that could see experimentation in dedicated copy archetypes but is unlikely to become a staple unless the meta strongly rewards Thief Priest strategies.
