About Hellraiser

Hellraiser, Minion, designed by Mike Sass first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Escape from Violet Hold.

Hellraiser would fit best in a midrange or combo Demon Hunter deck that relies on specific synergy pieces, since the Battlecry effectively lets you “tutor” a key card from your deck, increasing consistency; decks built around a particular win condition (like Relic, Lifesteal, or OTK-style builds) would benefit most, while aggressive low-curve Demon Hunter lists would likely prefer cheaper, more immediate pressure tools instead of a value-oriented 3-cost card. The +4/+4 fallback is only relevant in fatigue scenarios, which are rare for Demon Hunter, so most of the power lies in the Discover-from-deck effect. However, compared to stronger Demon Hunter card selection tools like Skull of Gul'dan (which provides powerful discounted draw) or even flexible generation like Illidari Studies, Hellraiser is slower and likely less impactful overall; as a result, it might see niche play in combo-focused builds but would probably not be a staple unless the meta strongly rewards consistency over temp
