About Mantid Precursor

Mantid Precursor would fit best in aggressive or midrange weapon-based decks, especially Warrior, Rogue, Demon Hunter, or Hunter lists that reliably have a weapon equipped, since a conditional 3-mana 4/4 with Rush can provide useful tempo; however, its requirement makes it inconsistent and its payoff is not strong enough for most constructed decks. Cards such as Bloodsail Raider are generally better in weapon decks because they can gain much more attack while benefiting from Pirate synergies, while class-specific options like Militia Commander or Diving Gryphon provide stronger immediate board impact or additional value. Mantid Precursor could be playable in a budget weapon deck or possibly Arena, but it should not normally see competitive play unless the format heavily rewards neutral, weapon-dependent tempo minions.
