About Potioner's Trove
Potioner's Trove, Artifact, designed by Alessandra Pisano first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Potioner’s Trove fits best in slower, spell-heavy Commander decks—especially “spellslinger” builds that regularly cast instants and sorceries (like Izzet, Jeskai, or Grixis control shells)—because those decks can reliably turn on the life-gain ability while appreciating flexible color fixing; however, at three mana for a rock that only taps for one and provides conditional, low-impact life gain, it’s underpowered compared to staples like **Commander's Sphere**, **Chromatic Lantern**, **Coalition Relic**, **Fellwar Stone**, or especially two-mana rocks such as **Arcane Signet** and **Talisman**/ **Signet** cycles, which accelerate you faster and more efficiently. The life gain is generally too minor to justify the extra cost and tap restriction, making this card unlikely to see competitive or even optimized casual play, though it could be acceptable in very budget builds, life-gain–synergy decks that care about incremental triggers, or highly thematic potion/alchemy-flavored decks.
