Duke of Below, Minion, designed by Mike Sass first released in Feb, 2026 in the set CATACLYSM.
Duke of Below would fit best in a Discard Warlock deck, where you actively throw away cards using effects like Soul Barrage, Cataclysm, or Tome Tampering to gain value from the discard mechanic; in that archetype, this card can become a strong mid-game tempo swing since Rush lets it immediately impact the board while its stats scale with how many cards you’ve discarded. However, Discard Warlock already has very efficient payoff cards like Tiny Knight of Evil (which grows continuously and can snowball early), Silverware Golem (free board presence), and Hand of Gul'dan (massive refill), which often provide more consistent or immediate value. Compared to those, Duke of Below is solid but somewhat “win-more” and depends on having already discarded multiple cards to be impressive, so while it could see play in dedicated Discard builds, it likely wouldn’t be a staple unless the meta favored mid-game board control and the discard package was already strong.
