This card would be beneficial in a control Warlock deck that focuses on removing enemy threats while also sustaining health. While Siphon Soul provides a decent removal option and healing, there are better cards like Twisting Nether or Godfrey for board clears, and Dark Skies for early-game removal in a Warlock deck. Siphon Soul may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cost and the availability of more efficient removal options.
