Gronn Giant, Minion, designed by James Ryman first released in Feb, 2026 in the set CATACLYSM.
Gronn Giant would fit best in a high-curve or “big spell/big minion” deck that regularly plays very expensive cards, since dropping a 7‑Cost or 8‑Cost card beforehand can reduce its cost dramatically and allow for powerful tempo swings; control decks with heavy late-game spells or ramp-style strategies would benefit most. However, compared to other Giant-style cards like Mountain Giant (which can be discounted through hand size) or Flesh Giant (discounted through self-damage), Gronn Giant is less consistent because it depends entirely on playing another expensive card first, making it more situational and often “win-more.” In most metas, more reliable threats or Giants with easier discount conditions would likely be better choices, so while it could see niche play in slower big-spell decks, it would not generally be a top-tier competitive option.
