About Safety Inspector
Safety Inspector, Unit, designed by Kudos Productions first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Unleashed.
Safety Inspector fits best in a control or attrition-focused deck that either runs expendable units (tokens, death-trigger units, or units that benefit from being destroyed) or can reliably generate excess XP to avoid sacrificing its own board, making it asymmetrically punishing. Decks that aim to grind value over time or that don’t rely on maintaining a wide board will benefit most, especially if they can treat the forced sacrifice as upside. However, at 5 cost plus a potential 3 XP investment, it’s relatively expensive for conditional removal, and in most metas a more efficient board-control or targeted-removal unit (such as a cheaper unit-kill spell or a unit that destroys an enemy unit without symmetrical downside) would generally be stronger unless the XP synergy is significant. It should see play primarily in XP-ramp or sacrifice-synergy builds, but in generic midrange or tempo decks there are likely more efficient and less conditional options.
