About Vaultkeeper
Vaultkeeper, Minion - mech, designed by Luca Zontini first released in September 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Vaultkeeper would mainly benefit a wide, board-centric Mech, Token, or Deathrattle deck that can reliably keep minions beside it, since its Battlecry and Deathrattle can provide substantial value across two turns; however, its adjacency requirement makes it inconsistent, and without exceptional base stats, spending five mana on a neutral minion that does not immediately affect the whole board is usually too slow. Fungalmancer is generally the better comparison because it also costs five mana and gives adjacent minions +2/+2 immediately, while cards such as Defender of Argus offer cheaper defensive utility and stronger flexibility; Vaultkeeper’s Mech tag and Deathrattle are useful, but probably not enough to justify the higher-risk positioning requirement. It would likely see play only in a slow, sticky Mech or Deathrattle deck with strong board development, and otherwise should not be considered a competitive staple.
