About Vulcanos

Vulcanos, Minion - elemental, designed by Zoltan Boros first released in Feb, 2026 in the set CATACLYSM.

Vulcanos (7‑mana Mage Colossal +2 that deals 2 damage to all other minions at the end of your turn) would fit best in a **control or slower Big‑Spell Mage** style deck that wants repeatable board clears and can afford a high‑cost finisher; its ongoing AoE pressures token, aggro, and midrange boards while its Colossal bodies provide strong stats and board presence. It synergizes particularly well with decks that can limit their own board or protect key minions (e.g., via Freeze effects), since it damages *all other* minions. However, in most metas it competes with more efficient or immediate-impact Mage cards like **The Fires of Zin‑Azshari payoff threats, Mordresh Fire Eye (in Wild), Drakefire Amulet, or Blizzard + Solid Alibi control shells**, which can offer stronger swing turns or guaranteed value; compared to premium 7‑8 mana threats, Vulcanos can be slow and somewhat symmetrical. It should see play mainly in slower control metas where repeatable AoE is valuable, but it’s unlikely
