About Assault Drone
Assault Drone, Artifact creature — borg, designed by Filipe Pagliuso first released in Aug, 2026 in the set Star Trek.
Assault Drone would fit an artifact-creature swarm deck, especially one that makes many cheap artifact tokens and wants a colorless-style aggression payoff while already using black, but at four mana its +1/+0-only anthem is generally too weak for competitive Constructed or Commander slots. `Chief of the Foundry` is the most direct upgrade: it costs one less and gives artifact creatures +1/+1; `Master of Etherium` is often far stronger in blue artifact decks, and `Steel Overseer` can permanently grow an entire board over time. Unless a deck specifically needs a black artifact creature, a “borg” tribal card, or extra redundant artifact-lord effects on a strict budget, Assault Drone should probably not see play.
