About Ornitharch
Ornitharch, Creature — archon, designed by Clint Cearley first released in May, 2020 in the set Born of the Gods.
The Ornitharch card would benefit a white weenie or token-based deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides flying creatures and can potentially create additional flying tokens if the tribute is not paid. However, there are better cards for similar strategies, such as Archangel of Thune or Baneslayer Angel, which offer more powerful effects and versatility. Ornitharch could see play in casual or budget decks, but competitive decks may opt for stronger options.
Rules
02/01/14
If the opponent pays tribute, the creature will enter the battlefield with the specified number of +1/+1 counters on it. It won’t enter the battlefield and then have the +1/+1 counters placed on it.
02/01/14
If the triggered ability has a target, that target will not be known while the creature spell with tribute is on the stack.
02/01/14
The triggered ability will resolve even if the creature with tribute isn’t on the battlefield at that time.
