The Slimescale Diver card would be beneficial in a control-oriented Murloc deck that focuses on board control and removal. Its combination of Rush and Poisonous abilities make it a strong removal tool against high-health minions. However, there are better cards available for similar purposes, such as Toxfin, which provides immediate Poisonous effect without the Dormant drawback. While Slimescale Diver could see situational play in specific decks, it may not be a top choice compared to other options available in the game.
