About Flame Shock

Flame Shock, Spell, designed by Ivo Campelo da Silva first released in September 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.

Flame Shock best fits aggressive or tempo Shaman decks that want to remove two small opposing minions while preserving pressure, or occasionally finish a game by splitting damage between a taunt and the enemy hero; its drawback is that Overload (1) makes it awkward on turns where mana efficiency matters. It is generally better than Forked Lightning because it lets you choose both targets and can target heroes, though Forked Lightning can be preferable only when its random targeting is irrelevant; compared with broader removal such as Lightning Storm, Flame Shock is cheaper but far less effective against larger boards. It should see play only if the metagame contains many one- and two-health minions and the deck can tolerate Overload--otherwise more proactive threats or less restrictive removal are usually stronger.
