“Annihilation” would fit best in a slow Control or Big Demon Warlock deck that runs a high density of large Demons and minimal small ones, aiming to use the full-board clear as a reset tool while cheating big threats (like Doomguard-style or Voidlord-style Demons) from the deck; it especially synergizes with bottom-deck manipulation or heavy draw strategies to increase the odds of hitting premium targets. However, at 9 mana it competes with stronger, more consistent options like Twisting Nether (a guaranteed full clear at 8 mana), Lord Godfrey (a powerful board swing with a body), or Bloodreaver Gul’dan (which both revives Demons and provides massive value), all of which are less conditional and often game-winning on the spot.
