About Befoul
Befoul, Sorcery, designed by Pete Venters first released in Oct, 1998 in the set Urza's Saga and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
This card, Befoul, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's mana base or key nonblack creatures. However, there are more efficient options available, such as Maelstrom Pulse or Vraska's Contempt, which offer more versatility or additional benefits. While Befoul may have situational uses, it may not be the optimal choice for competitive play unless the specific deck strategy heavily relies on land destruction or creature removal in black-heavy matchups.

This is not modal. You do not have to choose the target type. The target has to either be a land or non-black creature when announced and on resolution.
