About Persecute
Persecute, Sorcery, designed by D. Alexander Gregory first released in Oct, 1998 in the set Urza's Saga and was printed exactly in 8 different ways.
A deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's hand and strategy, such as a Black control or discard deck, would benefit from using Persecute. While Persecute can be effective in certain situations, there are other cards like Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek that offer more flexibility and immediate impact by targeting specific cards rather than a color. Persecute could see play in sideboards against decks heavily reliant on a single color, but it may not be a main deck staple due to its limitations.
