About Gemstone Hoarder
Gemstone Hoarder, Minion, designed by Mauricio Herrera first released in Feb, 2026 in the set CATACLYSM.
Gemstone Hoarder would fit best in slower value-oriented or combo decks that don’t mind temporarily discarding a key card and can protect or reliably trigger the Deathrattle, such as Warlock hand-size/value decks or combo decks that want to “bank” an expensive win condition and replay it cheaper later; however, the card is generally slow and risky because you lose immediate access to the chosen card until the Deathrattle triggers, and a 1-mana discount is often not worth the tempo loss of a 3-mana 2/4-style body (assuming typical stats) unless you have strong Deathrattle synergies. In most cases, there are better options: Warlock decks would rather use cards like Hand of Gul’dan (with discard synergy), Tamsin’s Phylactery (for powerful Deathrattle setups), or simply efficient draw/tutor tools, while neutral value decks have stronger Deathrattle minions like Loot Hoarder for cycle or Treasure Guard for defensive draw; compared to these, Gemstone Hoarder is niche and likely too slow for
