About Sacrifice Play

Sacrifice Play, Instant, designed by Matt Gaser first released in May, 2020 in the set Unstable.

Sacrifice Play would be particularly beneficial in decks that focus on controlling the board and disrupting opponents' strategies, such as White Weenie or control decks, where removing key creatures can swing the game in your favor. While it can be effective, there are arguably better options like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares, which offer more versatility by exiling creatures rather than sacrificing them, thus avoiding potential benefits for the opponent. Overall, while Sacrifice Play can see play in specific scenarios, it may not be the most optimal choice compared to more efficient removal spells available in the game.
