About Spore Cloud
Spore Cloud, Instant, designed by Amy Weber first released in Nov, 1994 in the set Fallen Empires and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
This card, Spore Cloud, would benefit a deck that focuses on aggressive creature strategies, as it can effectively neutralize blockers and prevent combat damage. However, there are better options available such as Fog or Holy Day, which provide similar effects for a lower mana cost. While Spore Cloud may have situational uses, it may not be the most efficient choice for competitive play compared to other similar cards.
Rules
10/01/08
Spore Cloud doesn’t track the creatures’ controllers. If an affected creature changes controllers before its old controller’s next untap step, Spore Cloud will prevent it from being untapped during its new controller’s next untap step.
10/04/04
Only makes attackers or blockers that have been declared before the spell is cast unable to untap as normal next turn. So, if used before attackers or blockers are declared, it is simply a Fog-like effect. If used after attackers are declared but before blockers are declared, it does the Fog effect and makes attackers not untap as normal. If done after blockers are declared, it has full effect.
