Flamespitter, Weapon, designed by Mauricio Herrera first released in September 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.

Flamespitter would primarily benefit an aggressive Face or weapon-focused Hunter deck that regularly attacks with its hero and can convert the generated Overdrives into immediate damage or board pressure; it is much less appealing in Secret, value, or control Hunter, where spending three mana on a weapon that requires an attack before generating value is slow. Unless Overdrive is exceptionally powerful, cards such as Aggramar, the Avenger, Eaglehorn Bow, or lower-cost weapons that provide immediate damage, durability, or card advantage are generally better because they affect the board or your opponent right away. Flamespitter should only see play if the current Hunter meta strongly rewards repeated hero attacks and Overdrive offers substantial tempo; otherwise, its delayed payoff and likely competition from more efficient weapons make it a fringe or experimental inclusion rather than a staple.
