Loch Mare, Creature — horse serpent, designed by Chris Rahn first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Loch Mare fits best in a slow, grindy blue control or tempo-control deck that can afford to invest mana over multiple turns for incremental value, especially one that cares about counters or proliferate (since adding counters and then removing them for value can create synergy). It’s essentially a delayed Divination plus repeatable tap/stun effect attached to a fragile body, so it works better in formats where games go long and board control matters. However, it’s generally underpowered compared to alternatives: for card draw, cards like *Memory Deluge*, *Behold the Multiverse*, or even *Ledger Shredder* (in older formats) provide more efficient or immediate value; for tapping and tempo, cards like *Fading Hope* or dedicated removal are cleaner and cheaper. Because Loch Mare requires multiple turns and mana investments before it generates meaningful advantage—and dies easily before you extract value—it’s usually too slow for competitive play and is better suited to casual or synergy-dr
