Venomancer would be a strong addition to a control or midrange deck that focuses on board control and removal, as its Poisonous ability allows it to efficiently take out high-value enemy minions. However, there are better options available such as Maexxna, which has the same Poisonous ability but with a higher health pool, making it more resilient on the board. While Venomancer may not be a top-tier card, it could still see play in specific decks that require targeted removal.
