About Renewal
Renewal, Sorcery, designed by Kaja Foglio first released in May, 2020 in the set Homelands.
A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and efficiently, such as a green-based ramp deck, would benefit from using Renewal in Magic: the Gathering. While Renewal can provide a temporary mana boost by sacrificing a land to search for a basic land card, there are better cards like Rampant Growth or Cultivate that offer similar benefits without the additional cost of sacrificing a land. Renewal may not see as much play in competitive decks due to its drawbacks compared to more efficient ramp spells.

Because the “search” requires you to find a card with certain characteristics, you don’t have to find the card if you don’t want to.
