Mutavault fits best in aggressive or tribal decks that want resilient, low-opportunity-cost threats—especially decks like Humans, Merfolk, Goblins, Faeries, or Slivers—because it counts as every creature type when animated and dodges sorcery-speed removal by being a land most of the time. It’s particularly strong in tribal aggro and tempo strategies that can afford colorless lands and want extra pressure without committing more cards to the board, and it synergizes well with “lord” effects (e.g., Lord of Atlantis, Thalia’s Lieutenant).
