About Picklock
Picklock, Minion, designed by Eva Widermann first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Escape from Violet Hold.
Picklock would fit best in a Rogue deck that can reliably float or manipulate Mana to maximize its scaling effect—most likely a Miracle Rogue or combo-oriented Rogue that draws a lot of cards and can time its play when sitting on high remaining Mana, turning it into a flexible removal tool that scales into the late game. However, Rogue traditionally prefers efficient, cheap removal like **SI:7 Agent**, **Eviscerate**, or more modern tempo tools that don’t require holding back Mana to be effective, making Picklock awkward since you usually want to spend your Mana each turn rather than conserve it. Unless the card’s stats also scale very favorably, it would likely be too inconsistent compared to established Rogue removal options and would probably not see competitive play unless supported by strong Mana-cheating or combo synergies that reward floating Mana.
