This card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on surviving until the late game, as it provides a strong defensive option when your health is low. However, there are better options available, such as Sludge Belcher, which offers more immediate value with its Deathrattle effect. Lion's Guard may not see much play in competitive decks due to its situational Battlecry and the availability of stronger defensive minions in the current meta.
