Bien que le Marteau du Naaru fournisse immédiatement un solide serviteur provocation 6/6, son coût élevé pourrait limiter son efficacité dans des matchs plus rapides. D'autres cartes comme Tirion Fordring ou Ragnaros le Seigneur du feu pourraient offrir plus de valeur dans certaines situations, mais le Marteau du Naaru pourrait quand même être joué en tant que choix technologique situationnel dans le bon méta.
