Bloatray, Minion - beast, designed by Slawomir Maniak first released in september 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.

Bloatray is best in slower Beast-synergy or control decks that can exploit its 1-mana Poisonous body to threaten an unfavorable trade into a large minion, though its low stats make it poor when the opponent can simply remove or ignore it. Beast Hunter or Beast Druid could use it as a cheap Beast activator, but most decks would prefer more proactive one-drops or reliable removal; `Stubborn Gastropod` is generally better when you need to stop attacks because its Taunt forces interaction, while `Venomous Scorpid` is often the stronger general Poisonous card thanks to its Discover effect and more meaningful body. Bloatray is a niche tech choice rather than a staple, and should only see play when its Beast tag or extremely cheap Poisonous threat specifically supports the deck's plan.
