Een kaartspel dat zich richt op tribale synergieën, zoals Elfen, Goblins of Zombies, zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Adaptive Automaton, omdat het andere wezens van het gekozen type een boost geeft. Hoewel Adaptive Automaton een solide toevoeging is aan tribale decks, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Metallic Mimic of Vanquisher's Banner die extra voordelen bieden, zoals +1/+1 counters of kaarttrekking. Adaptive Automaton kan echter nog steeds spel zien in decks die de synergieën tussen wezens willen maximaliseren.
